Stami srl - Discover our machining workshop in Treviso

With more than 60 years of experience, our machining workshop in Treviso has always pursued the same goal: delivering precision, reliability and tailored solutions in the production of precision turned metal components. We manufacture bespoke components for your projects, combining technical expertise, cutting-edge technology, carefully selected suppliers and close attention to detail, both in large-scale production and in the manufacture of one-off parts.

The commitment to order and organisation passed down to us by our grandfather Agostino guides every aspect of our work, from the organisation of the machine fleet and order management to the machining operations themselves. In our automatic metal turning company in Treviso, every product is manufactured to the highest quality standards, with micron-level precision.

Over three generations, Stami has built its service on the expertise and experience of the many people who have contributed to the company’s growth. Our passion for the industry drives us to improve and innovate every day, enabling us to provide reliable machinery, high-quality materials and precision turning services in Treviso that fully reflect your project requirements.

Ours is indeed a highly industrial sector, but we also see it as a form of craftsmanship. No two projects are the same, and every customer has specific requirements, which is why attentive listening and customer support are fundamental to us. The final component will always be exactly as you want it, even in high-volume production!

For our grandfather Agostino, precision turning was not simply a profession, but a vocation. Tireless and deeply passionate about his work, he remained alongside his machines until the age of 80, passing on important values such as dedication and pride in what you do.

Our story

The story of our machining workshop in Treviso

Let’s oil the gears and start the engines: it’s time to show you how it all began.

1960 – Our roots in a cellar

The best stories begin in small spaces (even if you are neither a rock star nor a computer genius). Ours began in 1960, when our grandfather, Agostino Fabbian, laid the foundations of his first workshop in the cellar of his home, producing precision dies for the goldsmiths of Borso del Grappa. At the time, he could not have known that this small cellar would shape the very identity of our company, built on initiative and craftsmanship.

1969 - Passion becomes a business

From day one, precision and customer trust have been our guiding principles, supported by a constant desire to improve. Starting from a small rented workshop, we decided to expand by opening our first production facility in Via Molinetto. Alongside die manufacturing, we introduced stamping operations, enabling us to meticulously test the quality of finished products before delivery. Gear after gear, our machining workshop in Treviso began to take shape, as did the name Stami, derived from the abbreviation Stampi per minuterie (dies for small metal parts) written in our grandfather’s accounting ledger.

70s-80s - Technological evolution and family spirit

Market developments have led us to diversify our production in order to keep pace with the times and meet our customers’ needs. Moulding has become a central part of our work, supported by long-standing partnerships for the production of roller shutter accessories and handlebar components, whilst the first cam-type lathes have been added to our machine fleet. It is not just the machinery that is expanding, but the team itself: in the 1980s, the second generation joined the company, bringing with them fresh energy, new ideas and a modern approach.

1995 - A new home for a new vision

A vigorous plant needs space to grow. By the early 1990s, the premises on Via Molinetto were becoming too cramped, with 16 cam-type lathes in operation and the family working on the front line. In 1994, we purchased a plot of land in Borso and on 1 January 1995 we moved to the new factory in Via Madonna Nera. Our resolution for the new year? To launch our automatic metal turning business in Treviso, marking the definitive transition to a modern industrial scale… and we did it!

1997 - Today: The era of precision and CNC technology

As the company continued to evolve, in 1997, we entered the world of CNC machining with the purchase of our first CNC lathe, followed years later by our first sliding headstock lathes. In 2017, this evolution was accompanied by a major strategic decision to discontinue stamping operations in order to focus all our expertise and excellence on precision turning in Treviso.
